about the program

Denney Daetz of the Akwaaba Foundation will present SIMPOLICON, a classroom
computer simulation of international political relations, economic
development, and environmental sustainability. It teaches critical
thinking, ethical decision making, and international cooperation. It was
awarded “Software of the Year” in 1984 by Classroom Computer Learning
magazine and has been used by over 10,000 high school students since then.

It is currently text driven and needs to be upgraded and enhanced for the
Internet to give students around the world the capability of conducting the
simulation interactively in real time.

SIMPOLICON II, aimed at college students and professionals is already
designed and needs to be programmed.
